Be 'Sound in Mind'?
Be 'Sound in Mind'?
"Pride is before a crash,
And a haughty spirit before stumbling."
"When presumptuousness comes,
dishonor will follow,
But wisdom
is with the modest ones." Prov. 16:18; 11:2.
***
Did someone say: 'Sensible'
aloud?
Who would even dare lean to whisper it?
Surely that's considered 'mean'
enough to incite a crowd
into stampede;
like in a bull rush
when people are trampled
and innocent blood gushes
into pavement cracks--between?
Hush!
Hush!
Responsible?
Reasonable?
Reliable?
I want to scream!
Who needs practical?
Logical?
Levelheaded
in this spiraling 'system of things'
as cyclones circle,
winds, homes hurl,
and floods into streets stream?
Shouldn't God intervene
although, didn't He say Be:
"hospitable, a lover of goodness,
sound in mind,
righteous, loyal, self-controlled"? Titus 1:8.
For: "the end of all things has drawn close.
Therefore,
be
sound in mind,
and be vigilant
with a view to prayers.
Above all things,
have intense love
for one another,
because love
covers
a multitude of sins.
Be hospitable
to one another
without grumbling." 1 Pet. 4:7-9.
Because: "The generous person
will prosper,
And whoever refreshes others
will himself be
refreshed." Prov. 11:25.

"For it is written:
“I will make the wisdom of the wise men
perish,
and the intelligence of the intellectuals
I will reject.”" 1 Cor. 1:19.
