Especially, in light of the fact that ridiculers persist: "Know this, that in the last days ridiculers will come with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires". "Following their own desires for ungodly things.”" Jude 18. And saying: “Where is this promised presence of his?" As stated earlier to Jeremiah and Isaiah about supposed delays: "Look! There are those saying to me: “Where is the word of Jehovah? Let it come, please!”" "Those who say: “Let Him speed up his work; Let it come quickly that we may see it. Let the purpose of the Holy One of Israel take place That we may know it!”" Jer. 17:15; Isa. 5:19. "Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep in death, all things are continuing exactly as they were from creation’s beginning.”" 2 Pet. 3:1-3. Even as to Ezekiel they did speak: “Son of man, what is this proverb that you have in Israel that says, ‘The days go by, and every vision comes to nothing’?" Ezek. 12:22. "They deliberately ignore this fact, that long ago there were heavens and an earth standing firmly out of water and in the midst of water by the word of God;" no, it had never rained before. "And that by those means" rain, "the world of that time suffered destruction when it was flooded with water." Yes: "By the same word" God's, "the heavens and the earth that now exist are reserved for fire and are being kept until the day of judgment and of destruction of the ungodly people." 2 Pet. 3:5-7. However, "You who suffer tribulation will be given relief along with us at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his powerful angels in a flaming fire, as he brings vengeance on those who do not know God and those who do not obey the good news about our Lord Jesus. These very ones will undergo the judicial punishment of everlasting destruction from before the Lord and from the glory of his strength, at the time when he comes to be glorified in connection with his holy ones and to be regarded in that day with wonder among all those who exercised faith, because the witness we gave met with faith among you." For: "It is righteous on God’s part to repay tribulation to those who make tribulation for you." 2 Thess. 1:6-10. "Those who hate him he will repay to their face with destruction. He will not be slow to deal with those who hate him; he will repay them to their face." Deut. 7:10. "However, do not let this escape your notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. Jehovah is not slow concerning his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire anyone to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance." So: "Consider what sort of people you ought to be in holy acts of conduct and deeds of godly devotion, as you await and keep close in mind the presence of the day of Jehovah, through which the heavens will be destroyed in flames" (present ruling authorities: "All the army of the heavens will rot away, And the heavens will be rolled up like a scroll. All their army will wither away, As a withered leaf falls from the vine And a shriveled fig from the fig tree." Isa. 34:4.) "and the elements will melt in the intense heat!" 2 Pet. 3:8-12. (Elements: A substance that can't be broken down by non-nuclear reactions: “For look! the day is coming, burning like a furnace, when all the presumptuous ones and all those practicing wickedness will become like stubble. The coming day will certainly devour them,” says Jehovah of armies, “and it will leave them neither root nor branch." Mic. 4:1.) Yes: "Jehovah’s day will come as a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar," swiftly; "but the elements being intensely hot will be dissolved," completely! "and earth and the works in it will be exposed." *** "But on you who honor my name, the sun of righteousness will shine, with healing in its rays; and you will skip about like fattened calves.” “And you will tread the wicked underfoot, for they will be like dust under the soles of your feet on the day when I take action,” says Jehovah of armies. “Remember the Law of my servant Moses, the regulations and judgments that I commanded at Horʹeb for all Israel to obey. “Look! I am sending to you E·liʹjah the prophet before the coming of the great and awe-inspiring day of Jehovah. And he will turn the hearts of fathers back toward sons, and the hearts of sons back toward fathers, so that I may not come and strike the earth, devoting it to destruction.” Mic. 4:2-6. *** "Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more; You will look at where they were, And they will not be there." Ps. 37:10. "Look! The day of Jehovah is coming, Cruel both with fury and with burning anger, To make the land an object of horror, And to annihilate the land’s sinners from it." Isa. 13:9. "Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to save them in the day of Jehovah’s fury; For by the fire of his zeal the whole earth will be consumed, Because he will make an extermination, indeed a terrible one, of all the inhabitants of the earth.” Zeph. 1:18. "For this is what Jehovah says: “The whole land will become desolate, But I will not carry out a complete extermination." Jer. 4:27. For: "There are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise, and in these righteousness is to dwell." 2 Pet. 3:13. *** “In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed. And this kingdom will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it alone will stand forever". Dan. 2:44.
