'In the Day of His Inspection'
'In the Day of His Inspection' "The shrewd person sees the danger and conceals himself, But the inexperienced keep right on going and suffer the consequences." Ps. 27:12. So: Draw close to God. Jas. 4:8. Kneel: "Before Jehovah, for he is coming, He is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the inhabited earth with righteousness And the peoples with his faithfulness." Ps. 96:13 "Because he has set a day on which he purposes to judge the inhabited earth in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and he has provided a guarantee to all men by resurrecting him from the dead.” Acts 17:31. *** So: "Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day will bring." Ps. 27:1. "Come, now, you who say: “Today or tomorrow we will travel to this city and will spend a year there, and we will do business and make some profit,” whereas you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. For you are a mist that appears for a little while and then disappears." Jas 4:13, 14. Yes: “Man, born of woman, Is short-lived and filled with trouble. He comes up like a blossom and then withers away; He flees like a shadow and disappears." Job 14:1, 2. Stating: "For my days are vanishing like smoke, And my bones are charred like a fireplace." Ps. 102:3. "The Grave and the place of destruction are never satisfied," but, we can become: "the light of the world. A city cannot be hid when located on a mountain. People light a lamp and set it, not under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it shines on all those in the house. Likewise, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your fine works and give glory to your Father who is in the heavens." "Maintain your conduct fine among the nations, so that when they accuse you of being wrongdoers, they may be eyewitnesses of your fine works and, as a result, glorify God in the day of his inspection." "On this account, you too prove yourselves ready, because the Son of man is coming at an hour that you do not think to be it." "Keep on the watch, therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming, whether late in the day or at midnight or before dawn or early in the morning, in order that when he comes suddenly, he does not find you sleeping. But what I say to you, I say to all: Keep on the watch.” "Keep awake, then, all the time making supplication that you may succeed in escaping all these things that must occur and in standing before the Son of man.” *** "And they keep saying to the mountains and to the rocks: “Fall over us and hide us from the face of the One seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, because the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?” Rev. 6:16, 17. Ps. 27:20; Matt. 5:14-16; 1 Pet. 2:12; Matt. 24::44: Mark 13:35-37: Lu. 21:36. When we reflect on God’s unfailing love for us, we deepen our own love for Jehovah and strengthen our bond with him. (Rom. 8:38, 39) We are moved to imitate Jesus’ example. (1 Pet. 2:21) In the days leading up to the Memorial, we focus on Bible accounts about Jesus’ final week on earth, his death, and his resurrection. Then on the evening of the Memorial, the discourse reminds us of Jesus’ love for us. (Eph. 5:2; 1 John 3:16) As we read about Jesus’ self-sacrificing example and meditate on it, we feel compelled to “go on walking just as that one walked.” (1 John 2:6) We are even more determined to remain in God’s love. (Jude 20, 21) We remain in God’s love by doing all we can to obey him, sanctify his name, and bring joy to his heart. (Prov. 27:11; Matt. 6:9; 1 John 5:3) The Memorial observance moves us to be more determined to live each day in a way that says to Jehovah, ‘I want to remain in your love forever!’ w22.01 23 ¶17; 25 ¶18-19 Photo credit: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/ywCDxPN4HJ8/maxresdefault.jpg https://www.weather.gov/images/pah/StormEvents/2020/Apr%208%20Severe/Lightning%20illuminating%20Gustfront%20in%20Pulaski%20County%20via%20Michael%20Schulz.jpg © 32 mins ago, Lucretia McCloud teen • society • sad • pain • christian • death
