'Recession' Proof

'Recession' Proof "Jehovah is the one marching before you, and he will continue with you. He will neither desert you nor abandon you. Do not be afraid or be terrified.”" Deut. 31:8. *** Happiness seems to many be when an eagle lands to pay the 'man'; yet monies still exist to spend happily-- freely. Though, admonished earnestly: “Having sustenance and covering, we shall be content with these things.” 1 Tim. 6:8. So: "Do not wear yourself out to gain wealth. Stop and show understanding. When you cast your eyes on it, it is not there, For it will surely sprout wings like an eagle and fly off into the sky." Prov. 23:4, 5. "For wealth does not last forever, Nor a crown for all generations." Prov. 27:24. Better to: "Let your way of life be free of the love of money, while you are content with the present things. For he (Jah) has said: “I will never leave you, and I will never abandon you.” Yes: "the love of money is a root of all sorts of injurious things, and by reaching out for this love some have been led astray from the faith and have stabbed themselves all over with many pains." "Flee from these things. But pursue righteousness, godly devotion, faith, love, endurance, and mildness. Fight the fine fight of the faith; get a firm hold on the everlasting life". 1 Tim. 6:10, 11. Yes: "Work, not for the food that perishes, but for the food that remains for everlasting life, which the Son of man will give you; for on this one the Father, God himself, has put his seal of approval.”" John 6:27. *** "Instruct those who are rich in the present system of things not to be arrogant, and to place their hope, not on uncertain riches, but on God, who richly provides us with all the things we enjoy. Tell them to work at good, to be rich in fine works, to be generous, ready to share, safely treasuring up for themselves a fine foundation for the future, so that they may get a firm hold on the real life." 1 Tim. 6:17-19. *** "If I put my confidence in gold Or said to fine gold, ‘You are my security!’ If I found my joy in my great wealth Because of the many possessions I acquired; If I saw the sun shining Or the moon moving in its splendor; And my heart was secretly enticed, And my mouth kissed my hand in worship of them; Then that would be an error deserving punishment by the judges, For I would have denied the true God above." Job 31:24-28. *** "This is what Jehovah says: “Let not the wise man boast about his wisdom; Let not the mighty man boast about his mightiness; And let not the rich man boast about his riches.”" Jer. 9:23. *** Because: "the world is passing away and so is its desire, but the one who does the will of God remains forever." 1 John :17. *** As Christ Jesus said: "For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who recognizes the Son and exercises faith in him should have everlasting life, and I will resurrect him on the last day.” John 6:40. *** "The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it." Remove your evil deeds from my sight; stop doing bad.—Isa. 1:16. The apostle Paul used a powerful word picture to teach us just how serious we must be about changing our lifestyle. He wrote that we must nail our old personality “to the stake.” (Rom. 6:6) In other words, we want to follow Christ’s example. We need to kill off attitudes and practices that Jehovah hates. Only if we take these steps will we gain a clean conscience and have the prospect of enjoying everlasting life. (John 17:3; 1 Pet. 3:21) Jehovah will not change his standards to suit us. Instead, we need to change who we are and conform to his standards. (Isa. 1:17, 18; 55:9) Even after you get baptized, you will need to continue to fight fleshly desires. Pray for Jehovah’s help, and rely on his spirit, not on your own strength. (Gal. 5:22; Phil. 4:6) We must be determined if we are to strip off the old personality and keep it off.
