Still Lost or Found
Still Lost or Found "That is why justice is far away from us, And righteousness does not overtake us. We keep hoping for light, but look! there is darkness; For brightness, but we keep walking in gloom. We grope for the wall like blind men; Like those without eyes we keep groping. We stumble at high noon as in evening darkness; Among the strong we are just like the dead." Isa. 59:9, 10 "Like sheep we have all wandered about, Each has turned his own way, And Jehovah has caused the error of us all to meet up with him." Isa. 53:6. "For Christ died once for all time for sins, a righteous person for unrighteous ones, in order to lead you to God. He was put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit." 1 Pet. 3:18. *** "My people have become a flock of lost sheep. Their own shepherds caused them to stray. They led them away onto the mountains, roaming from mountain to hill. They have forgotten their resting-place." "For the shepherds have behaved senselessly, And they have not inquired of Jehovah. That is why they have not acted with insight, And all their flocks have been scattered.”" Jer. 10:21. "So they were scattered because there was no shepherd; they were scattered and became food for every wild beast of the field. My sheep were straying on all the mountains and on every high hill; my sheep were scattered over all the surface of the earth, with no one searching for them or seeking to find them." Ezek. 34:5, 6. *** “Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of my pasture!” declares Jehovah." Jer. 23:1. "Her prophets are insolent, treacherous men. Her priests defile what is holy; They do violence to the law." Zeph. 3:4. "Her leaders judge for a bribe, Her priests instruct for a price, And her prophets practice divination for money. And yet they lean on Jehovah, saying: “Is not Jehovah with us? No calamity will come upon us.” Micah 3:11. "“For from the least to the greatest, each one is making dishonest gain; From the prophet to the priest, each one is practicing fraud. And they try to heal the breakdown of my people lightly, saying, ‘There is peace! There is peace!’ When there is no peace." Jer. 6:13, 14. 'His watchmen are blind, none of them have taken note. All of them are speechless dogs, unable to bark. They are panting and lying down; they love to slumber. They are dogs with a voracious appetite; They are never satisfied. They are shepherds who have no understanding. They have all gone their own way; Every last one of them seeks his own dishonest gain and says: “Come, let me take some wine, And let us drink our fill of alcohol. And tomorrow will be like today, only far better!”" Isa. 56:10-12. "‘You will have night; there will be no vision; There will only be darkness for you, no divination. The sun will set on the prophets, And the day will turn dark for them." Micah 3:6. "‘In that day,’ declares the Sovereign Lord Jehovah, ‘I will make the sun go down at high noon, And I will darken the land on a bright day." Amos 8:9. *** Whenever it is that they are saying, “Peace and security!” then sudden destruction is to be instantly on them, just like birth pains on a pregnant woman, and they will by no means escape." 1 Thess. 5:3. 2023 Memorial of Jesus’ Death What Can His Sacrifice Mean for You?
